History

HBOS Australia has a long, proud history dating back to 1895. While we began life as a bank designed to develop Western Australia's farming industry, like many organisations, we've grown with the times, expanding our reach into many new areas.

Perhaps the biggest change came in 2003 when HBOS acquired 100% ownership of BankWest. This was the catalyst for bringing all of our individual businesses together under the HBOS Australia banner.
